The History of Metal Proud
![]() Following the acquisition of Forces of Valor, the Waltersons team has begun engaging with numerous amateur FoV collectors. As our communication has increased, it is noteworthy that nearly every opinion converges on a common objective - to preserve the original state of the brand as it was introduced to the market in 2003! Many collectors have grown up collecting Forces of Valor models, evolving from novices to enthusiasts with extensive military knowledge. Their expectations regarding the new Forces of Valor ownership have risen significantly, which is when the Waltersons Japan office proposed an innovative premium brand - 'Metal Proud.' Forces of Valor has taken pride over the past two decades in producing scaled military vehicles with intricate details. More importantly, many of its components are made from diecast metal, and this new premium brand aims to elevate this original concept to a higher standard. |

Moving Parts Moving Parts In contrast to traditional plastic model kits that are mainly made from PS plastic, a typical Forces of Valor or Metal Proud diecast model necessitates the use of various plastic materials to serve its intended function. For example, polycarbonate materials are employed to simulate door hinges or suspension arm components. PVC or TPR rubber materials are utilized in figure bodies or caterpillar tracks to accommodate moving road wheels. ABS plastic is highly versatile due to its elastic properties and can be used in significant body components aside from diecast metal parts. With the new release of Forces of Valor Waltersons, we adhere strictly to a principle that mandates the turret cover, hull top, gun barrel, and even the mantlet to be constructed from diecast metal, which aligns precisely with the original standard established in 2003. |

Authenticity is as crucial as the presence of sufficient diecast metal components in a diecast model. In today's world, where the Internet is readily available, collectors can easily access historical footage with just a click, unlike years ago when such information was only obtainable through literature in museum archives or libraries. Consequently, contemporary collectors have elevated their expectations regarding authenticity, and our research team is committed to making every effort to replicate our scale diecast model with the utmost precision. |

Diecast metal is certainly one of the finest materials for major body components; it provides exceptional rigidity and a weighty feel that collectors genuinely value. Even unpainted, it has a lustrous appearance akin to jewelry, which are likely its primary advantages. However, the drawbacks include its high purchase cost and the challenges associated with fabrication during the tooling process. Ultimately, the decision to utilize diecast metal hinges on a balance between cost and functionality. |

Paint & Weathering The initial production phase of Forces of Valor is recognized for its exceptionally authentic paint application, which includes weathering effects. This technique is typically not employed in mass production. The application of weathering to a model greatly enhances the definition of its overall silhouette. However, the primary drawback is the significant increase in labor required during production. To elevate paint and weathering to an entirely new standard, Metal Proud’s product paint schemes are crafted by award-winning hobby competition experts. They employ advanced painting techniques that go beyond mere weathering. Additionally, we have incorporated effects such as ambush patterns, chipping, paint flaking, and the simulation of wear and tear. |

Overall Presentation The packaging is just as crucial as the product itself and, in a broader context, is indeed regarded as a component of the product. Forces of Valor has consistently been recognized for its distinctive window box packaging, allowing collectors to view all the accessories and intricate details. Metal Proud has elevated this concept further by designing an expansive diorama land base, complete with two robust frames to ensure everything remains securely in place during transit. The primary objective is to deliver this exquisite piece to our collectors without any damage. |
